Jiri Gokyo and Lukla trekking is one of the longest, classic trekking and popular trekking trail in the Nepal. This trekking trail is popular in the sense that you will not have chance to explore the village life but also experience the hiking in the difficult terrain starting at Jiri but right now starts from the place called Bhandar, the Sherpa village and only the gateway to Everest base camp by road these days. During the trekking you will also have chance to explore the wide range of sceneries of majestic Himalayas and capture the scenic views of the majestic mountains of the areas including of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Thamserku among others.

This is one of the most adventurous trekking in Nepal and one of the most frequently visited trekking routes. One of the attractions of this trekking is that you will have chance to explore the culture, tradition and lifestyle of the world known Sherpa ethnic community. Subsequently, you will also have breathtaking views of several mountains around Khumbu region including Mt. Everest (8,848m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516m) Mt. Nuptse (7855m), Mt. Pumori (7,161m), Mt. Changaste (7,550m), Mt. Amadablam (6856m), Mt. Thamserku (6,723m), Mt. Kantega (6979m), Mt. Kusum Khangaru (6,367m), Mt. Kongde (6,011m), Mt. Tawache peak (6367m), Mt. Cholaste (6,335m), Island peak (6,179m), Khumbila, the god of the Khumbu (5761m) among others. This trail is considered to be an ideal for those who are fond of taking pictures of the mountains and have an adventure at the mean time. This was the same route when the first summiters Tenjing Norgey Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary made their successful summit to the Mt. Everest in 1953. You will have breathtaking sceneries through the foothills of the mountains from lowland to the glacial lakes, peaks and Himalayan flora and fauna, traditional villages and ancient Monasteries. The trekking begins from one day drive from Kathmandu to Bhandar, the gateway to the Solukhumbu and follows through the classic trails to Everest base camp and making excursion to Gokyo valley and other areas in the region, it finally ends at Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu.

Outline Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1345meters).

Day 02: Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley.

Day 03: Drive to Jiri (187 km).

Day 04: Trek to Bhandar (2200 meters) 6 hours.

Day 05: Trek to Sete (2645 meters) 6 hours.

Day 06: Trek to Junbensi (2675meters) 6 hours

Day 07: Trek to Nunthala (2440meters) 5 hours.

Day 08: Trek to Kharikhola (2020meters) 5 hours.

Day 09: Trek to Puiyan (2700meters) 6 hours

Day 10: Trek to Phakding (2646meters) 5 hours.

Day 11: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3441 meters) 5.30 hours.

Day 12: Namche Bazaar Acclimatization day.

Day 13: Trek Namche Bazaar to Phorste Thanga (3680meters) 5 hours.

Day 14: Trek to Machherma (4470 meters). 5 hours.

Day 15: Trek to Gokyo (4790 meters) 5.30 hours.

Day 16: Trek to Gokyo Ri (5483 meters) and then Back to Gokyo. 5 hours.

Day 17: Trek to Thangna (4500 meters) 4 hours.

Day 18: Cross Cho La pass (5300 meters) then trek to Dzongla (4710 meters) 7 hours.

Day 19: Trek to Lobuche (4910 meters). 4 hours.

Day 20: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5365 meters) back to Gorak Shep (5180 meters). 7 hours.

Day 21: Hike to Kalapattar (5555 meters) trek back down to Pheriche (4200 meters) 6 hours.

Day 22: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3441 meters. 6 hours.

Day 23: Trek to Lukla (3404 meters) 6 hours.

Day 24: Morning flight to Kathmandu from Lukla

Day 25: Leisure day in Kathmandu.

Day 26: Transfer for your final flight departure.
