Annapurna Base Camp / Annapurna Sanctuary Trekking

It lies in the lap of Annapurna conservation area which covers some 7,629 square kilometer. It is the first and the largest conservation area in Nepal and also the home of various wild animals, birds and flora and fauna.

Annapurna Base camp (4130m) trekking is in this region which is another popular trekking trails for trekkers who primarily love to enjoy with the excellent views and eye-catching Himalayan sceneries and nature lovers. Likewise, it is also one of the relaxed walking trails in Nepal through well-defined trekking trails and quality tea houses lodges. Ghorepani Poon Hill Circuit Trekking, Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking, GhorepaniTatopani Trekking, GhorepaniGhandruk Trekking, and natural hot spring in JHINU DANDA are the major attraction of this trek. Annapurna Base Camp is surrounded by many Himalayan ranges which include the Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri and famous virgin Holy Mountain fishtail (Machhapuchhre) that dominate the skyline above Pokhara.

Annapurna Base Camp Trekking starts at Birethanti, a short drive of an hour from Pokhara. The trail takes you through forests and fascinating traditional villages of the Nepal's indigenous communities of Gurung and Magar. The hike continues through heart touching blooming dense rhododendron forest and Bamboo with snowy peaks scenery in the background to Tadapani. After reaching to ChhomrongGurung village,you follow the ModiKhola through the huge rock over hanging, known as HINKU CAVE, you will have noticed that the vegetation has thinned and the gorge narrowed to be only a few hundred meters wide. Steep snow-clad ridges falling from Hiunchuli on the left and Machhapuchhre on the right from the sanctuary. As you enter to the sanctuary, you find yourself in a huge amphitheater enclosed by a solid wall of snowcapped peaks get to Annapurna Base Camp hardly. All the snowcapped mountains around the Annapurna base camp which makes you worthwhile and happy. After this imaging view, you will back down to Pokhara via JhinuDanda,Hot Spring with some small Towns.

The Annapurna Base Camp trek will be more interesting in spring as the whole forest along the trail turns red, pink and white with Nepali National Flowers called RHODODENDRON. You can find 32 different types of rhododendron flowers in Nepal. Some part of this trek can be done anytime of the year. During the trekking in this region, you will have an opportunity to spot the wild animals, reared birds, Buddhist's monasteries, and blend of cultures of the diverse ethnic groups such as Gurung, Magar, Brahmin, Chhetri. Now a days, you can drive to Ghandruk directly but road is rough and dusty.

Trip Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1345m)
There you will be met by our Airport Representative and transferred to hotel by private tourist vehicle. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley.
Your sightseeing will be visited places according to your interest.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara(910m) 5/6 hrs driving or 45 minutes fly
Early in the morning, your Trekking guide will come at the Hotel to pick you up and you walk from hotel few minutes to get Tourist bus station (Kantipath).You will drive through scenic foothills, passing along the road at the bank of Trishuli River. You will have nice view of Annapurna, terraces and green hills with many Nepali town.While you reach to POkhara at noon. You can have sightseeing on the lakeside and boating at Phewa lake. From Kathmandu to Pokhara is about 206km.You will have your Breakfast and Lunch on the way.If you want,We can provide private vehicle as well. Itis much more conformable for you're driving. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 04: Drive to Birethanti (1100m), trek to Ulleri(2073m) 4 hrs
After your breakfast. After an hour drive to Birethanti, a large and prosperous town beside the Modi River. You head up the main trail to Ramgai and Sudame where you climb gradually up the side of the valley, reaching Hile (1495m) before pushing on to TikheDhunga (1575m), from here the trail crosses a stream (BhrungdiKhola) and then ascends a steep stone staircase to the large Magar village at Ulleri. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 05: Ulleri to Ghorepani (2850m) 5 hrs
This is a pleasant walking day today. You trek through rhododendron (Nepali National Flower) and oak forests and across streams before making a short,final climb to Nangethant, From Nangethanti you head up to Ghorepani.This day, you will see some birds and some animals too. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 06: Ghorepani to Poon Hill to Tadapani (2520m).5 hrs
An early start and 45 minutes hiking to Poon Hill (3210m) leads you to a brilliant spectacle, this vantage point provides an unobstructed view of sunrise over the high Himalayas.From here you can not only see the sunrise but also the panoramic views of Himalayas including Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m), Mt. Nilgiri (7040m), Annapurna south (7219m),Annapurna II (7937m), Annapurna III (7555m), Annapurna IV (7525m), Hunchuli (6441m), fishtail or Machhapuchhre (6998m),LamjungHimal (6986m), Tukuch peak (6920m), Dhampus peak (6012m) among others. One can also see various kinds of butter flies and enjoy with the blend of culture and traditions of various ethnic groups such as Bramin,Chhetri, Magar, Thakali,and gurung and making the trips to the areas,After spending about 40 minutes on the hillside,you come back to your hotel to have a hot and fresh breakfast and start walking to Tadapani. From Ghorepani the trail climbs along the ridgev and through pine,Oak,Juniper and rhododendron forests to Deurali (2960m).You descend to reach Next Banthanti, before winding your way to Tadapani(2540m). your trekking starts and ends in Birethanti. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 07: Tadapani to Ghaundruk (1950m) 4 hrs
During this day, you will trek through the forests with mountain view.Your descent brings you to the village of Ghaundruk around noon so you can visit Gurung village, Gurung museum.As well as take time to explore the village. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 08: Ghandruk to Chhomrong (2140m) 5 hrs
During this day, you will walk through Gurung Village with terraces, green hills with mountain views to Deurali then 30 minutes drop down to the KimrongKhola where you will take your hot lunchafter your lunch, you will continue climbing to another Gurung Village (Chhomrong).You will see their rich culture, Gurung people with their tipicalGurung dress.They are honesty and innocent smile face.They have their own monologue too. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 09: Chhomrong to Dovan (2500m) 5/6 hrs
Today the trail drops down to the ChhomrongKhola and again you continue climbing to Khuldighar at 2380meters where there used to be an ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Project) Check post before. There is a clearing in the forest a little further on, from which, the route travels very steeply down a rock bank then levels out, running through thickets of bamboo at the bottom of the gorge, keeping always on the west side of the river. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 10: Dovan to Deurali (3200m) 4 hrs
Today, you have a short walking day because of altitude and risk of snow avalanches in the area that you need to cross in the next morning. Your day begins with the climb through bamboo and rhododendron forests to Himalayan Hotel through Hinko cave. Your camp will be in Deurali, on the ridge above Hinko is the stretch of trail that is most subject to avalanche. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 11: Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC,4130m) 5 hours.
Dring this day, the trail climbs on past the Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC), which isn't really a base camp since climbing the mountain is not permitted. Since it is totally surrounded by mountains peaks, this area is known as the Annapurna Sanctuary. You will climb up around 2 hours to the Annapurna Base Camp. There, you will view unobstructed views of mountain scenery, which is very spectacular. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 12: ABC to Bamboo (2345m) 6 hrs
Early in the morning, you will spend an hour in ABC to see or make some photos of beautiful maountains with hot breakfast. It will be enjoying time but you follow the same trail down to the bank of ModiKhola to Bamboo. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 13: Bamboo to JhinuDanda (1780m) 5 hrs
Your trek will be up and down Today.At the beginning the way will be slowly up through rhododendron and bamboo fields to Sinuwa then drop down to ChhomrongKhola. Then, you follow the same trail but up until Chhomrong. After Chhomrong the trail descending very steeply to the JhinuDanda where you can bathe in natural hot springs. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 14: JhinuDanda to Birethanti (1100m) 4 hrs and drive to Pokhara
Breakfast then start walking at the at the right side of ModiKhola which is consider one of the best and relaxing walk of the entire trek.Your walking will be easy today.Your Lunch place will be Syauli Bazar then walk to Birethanti.There is your private vehicle to Pokhara. Overnight at Hotel in Pokhara.

Day 15: Pokhara to Kathmandu (200km) 5 hrs
Drive back to Kathmandu by tourist bus at 7:30AM or 45 minutes fly to Kathmandu. It is the more convenient way to Kathmandu.

Day 16: Transfer to international airport for your final departure.
Our Airport Representative will drop you to the Kathmandu International Airport for your flight departure from Nepal.
